THE DESIGN PROJECT STEP BY STEP

DESIGN BRIEF

Your project may be a full scale or partial renovation, furnishings only, new construction or all of the above, Whether it’s one specific area of your space or the entire space, we start the design project with a design brief. This includes a quick history of your space, a complete download of your design & space planning goals, what you imagine for your desired space, design pegs that you’ve collected, & any plans, measurements or existing pieces that you may want to integrate into a new plan. Particular styles, colors & materials that you are drawn to or like/dislike are discussed within this design brief as well as the timeline, budget & ultimate goal for your space. If your’e in the Los Angeles area then a walk through of the space may also be included.

PROPOSAL

After measurements and details are confirmed, a detailed design proposal is drafted which is priced per square foot or per room or area. The proposal highlights each design phase and a thorough explanation of what’s included in design consulting services . Once approved we then enter a design agreement and the design presentation commences.

DESIGN PRESENTATION & PLANS

You are presented a PDF mood board presentation with design pegs and images, renderings & material samples, when needed, and preliminary plans to illustrate the design plan envisioned for your space. This could include proposed materials such as wood flooring, tile, natural stone, light fixtures, fabrics, hardware, plumbing fixtures, appliances, furniture, rugs, window treatments, paint colors, wall & ceiling treatments, & placement & configuration options. Once finalized, we create approved plans to commence work.

THE PROCESS

This is a collaboration between us. You are guided by our expertise and knowledge of the industry and process. We are involved from design concept to installation managing the design details of the project. We source and present multiple design options for approval and  we extend our industry discounts when available. We manage the purchasing process from creating purchase orders to lead times, delivery appointments & installation. Design fees are separate from project purchasing fees. We create a budget and purchasing status spreadsheet with easy access to show status updates, purchase history and overall project purchasing and budget.  Decision making in a timely manner is important during this process to meet our timeline goals. We guide the General Contractor and all necessary trades with detailed plans and/or shop drawings when needed throughout  the project. Site visits are scheduled as needed and we are in constant communication via email, text and phone communication throughout the entire process.

THE END GOAL

 Interior Design of a space is a renewal of energy into that space. We make the experience non-intimidating and non-complicated with our experience & expertise. Making decisions in a timely manner & overall mutual trust are areas that we focus on to expedite the process which results in a successful collaborative design project. The process should be fun and exciting and the result should either be a well designed & functional space that you always dreamed of or a well-designed space that you never imagined.
