EL NIDO, PALAWAN

This newly constructed beach club located in the Philippines famed El Nido, Palawan sits on a strip of exclusive beaches.

The design scope for the project included all public spaces, guest villas, beachfront and restaurant. All of the design details were an ode to Filipino modernity and textures found throughout the archipelago. Custom abaca rugs were designed and woven for each guest room along with Yakang Yaka’s customized accent pillows and bed runners modernized in indigo, rust and taupe hues. Custom furniture pieces were fabricated in Cebu and Pampanga and the clients extensive art collection were placed throughout all of the guest villas. All bathroom accessories in charcoal volcanic finishes were customized in partnership with Philippines Red Slab Pottery exclusively for the resort. Stair riser tiles were custom designed and made by the Philippines own home-grown Machuca Tiles. The patterns are inspired by local Palawan extracted hieroglyphic scripts against the lush tropical landscape. The details showcase the heart of the resorts design inspiration; modern, Filipino, relaxed, beachfront hospitality.
